Nearly one year to the day, NBA stars DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis return to their high school alma maters, in the memory of their seniors teammates, to help raise more than $3 million for the Morongo Basin Zoological Society.

The game is at 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Morongo Basin Event Center in Cabazon.

Davis, who returns to Etiwanda High, and Beverley, who returns to Murrieta Valley, were selected as assistant coaches. Not only do they set up the game on Sunday, they will present scholarships to some of the high school students who work with them.

The reason they do so is because of their memories of their seniors teammates.

Davis’ classmates, Jaevon Roscoe and Kevon Looney, are among the promising freshmen at UCLA this year. With the Lakers expected to take a big jump in the NBA draft after drafting Davis in the top five last June, he’s expected to be an NBA All-Star in 2019.

Beverley’s two best friends have graduated. They are Michael Williams, the Centennial All-American, and Melvin Ejim, a future USC basketball star.

The All-Star game will be televised by Fox. Tickets for the game can be purchased at .
