Chad Johnson, the 31-year-old Ex On The Beach and The Bachelorette contestant, was arrested in Seattle on Tuesday, Feb. 20, for allegedly assaulting his wife, Brooke Knapp, during a workout session at Seattle’s Westside Training. Johnson, a heavy-weight heavyweight bodybuilder and former cast member of MTV’s Ex On The Beach, posted a picture on Instagram that night of himself with the 32-year-old Knapp.

“At a 45 minute workout session, my wife started having a little technical difficulty with her body sensors in a sensitive area so she called it a day,” Johnson said in the post. “After a few jokes on her about why she called off the workout and the ever steady and ever loving support that I give her through all her workouts and of course her traveling across the world to be home with me, suddenly I had to deal with the blame game and how I was responsible for leaving her because of how hard she is working to recover from this latest injury to her sister's neck.”

But then, Johnson released another photo from the same workout, showing Knapp out of the workout, wearing dark-colored sneakers. Knapp was photographed with visible bruising on her lower stomach and neck.

As you can see from the photo posted to Johnson’s Instagram account, Knapp had taken a picture of him as they were taking a break in the workout.

“I understand the backlash and manipulation as I'm not going to go into specifics about the incident with ,” Johnson wrote. “I understand that my wife did not understand what I was going through and now feels the need to call us names to mask her feelings of sadness that she's lost her husband. I choose to focus on my two girls and my sister after all of the scrutiny and attack. I'm very appreciative for the outpouring of love and support we've been receiving and understand that these are times when everyone needs to take time and be with their loved ones. You're not supposed to let the wrong person in your life derail your plans.”

In the post, Johnson admits that if he could give his daughter either the time he was with Knapp during the time of the alleged assault or the time she would have been with him during the time of the alleged assault, “I would do anything for my children.”

Johnson then posted a picture of Knapp’s post on Instagram with the caption, “I'm grateful that this will never happen again to any man or woman. Respect.”
