KUCHING: Bersatu Youth will not participate in the ‘Orang Asli Sekerah’ show tomorrow, warning they are ready to raise their voice and reveal any action Umno might take to subvert the vote cast on March 9.
In a press conference here today, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, Bersatu Youth president, said the Umno candidate from the Immoklak seat based in Magelang, Selangor, was only sending a message to sedition ringgit, including DAP leaders Lim Kit Siang and Tony Pua.
“Is this his way of showing support for the sedition ringgit, or perhaps the sedition ringgit is sending a message to Bersatu Youth to protect it from future threats?” he asked.
The UMNO candidate for Immoklak was ex-Arunana MP Hishammuddin Abdullah.
Syed Saddiq said that instead of singling out Lim and Pua, Hishammuddin could have said that his support was only to the party’s candidate who got into politics late in life.
“This shows that Hishammuddin is a latecomer and doesn’t know what the issue is. It’s clear he doesn’t care about, ‘faranjanas kama’ (a group of PAS diehards). He only cares about what Umno politics does for him,” he said.
He said that since their earlier meeting, Umno had harassed DAP members and their supporters, with a view to telling the public that there are real threats from PAS.
