An 18-year-old college student from Georgia was last seen at her college dorm on Valentine's Day, her mother reported Tuesday, according to CNN affiliate WSBTV.
Hannah Agne is described as 5-foot-11, 115 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen at Sweet Briar College in Sweet Briar, Virginia, shortly before 1 p.m. ET on Valentine's Day, authorities said.
Investigators found Agne's backpack with her, but she has not been seen since, authorities said.
Agne went missing following what Sweet Briar officials described as a confrontation with a male student she had a date with at a nearby farm.
"On Valentine's Day, an altercation occurred between two students whom were in a relationship. During the altercation one of the students left the campus and hasn't been seen since," the college said in a statement.
Agne was last seen wearing a maroon Clemson University University shirt, khaki shorts and tan Vans slippers.
Police have searched the farm but have found no evidence of Agne.
Agne and the male student arrived at the farm on Valentine's Day morning. About an hour later, she told him they would not meet and he left, investigators said. The school told the news station that Agne's boyfriend is not a suspect in the case.
Agne is an undeclared senior with dual majors in political science and accounting, according to the Sweet Briar College website.
The college has declined to comment further, citing the ongoing investigation. Sweet Briar has had a hard time promoting privacy on its campus in recent years as it instituted increased security following numerous campus burglaries.
