We are very pleased to announce the launch of a subscription news service — The Conversation — to bring you the best analysis and feature stories of the day. We’ll strive to cover news on a range of topics, but to be the front-runner for international coverage, we will primarily produce coverage of the emerging new disease threat of coronavirus.
The Conversation ( ) will bring the best analysis and feature stories on one topic. We will aim to comprehensively cover all news, politics, international events and opinion pieces that touch on the emerging threat of the coronavirus, as well as providing a forum for thoughtful analysis and commentary, opinion and debate about what it means.
We would like to write this announcement with some perspective. Like anyone else at any given time, we are very much aware of the fact that there have been over 150 confirmed cases of the virus, including eight deaths. We have also covered numerous outbreaks in many countries, starting with an outbreak in London a few years ago that is now being rolled out around the world. We’re in a race against time and we would encourage everyone to get as much information as possible, including medical professionals who have treated the first batch of cases to make informed decisions about whether or not to travel.
We are launching The Conversation as we know there are many readers who might feel that we are doing a disservice to their interests by not giving them up-to-date information on this crucial global health threat. Since time is short, we need to give readers as much immediate access to our coverage as possible.
So, as you’re reading this we’re calling for contributions from you. If you’d like to give us a try, we’d like to create a free newsletter for your participation — it’s the only way we’ll have enough readership. To join, all you need to do is email [email protected]
At The Conversation we believe that quality will always win out over quantity — and that means helping our readers gain access to a range of content at a great price.
Thank you for reading and please feel free to contact us with any questions or feedback. In addition, if you would like to contribute to this project, please please share the contact details with everyone who has so far written this invitation.
