Mo Hasan, a former star quarterback at Vanderbilt, announced that he will transfer to USC this spring as a preferred walk-on.
Hasan, 25, started for the Commodores and completed 29 of 42 passes for 637 yards and three touchdowns in 2009 when he was the SEC offensive player of the year.
Hasan also is a nine-year NFL veteran who has also played for the San Francisco 49ers, Detroit Lions, San Diego Chargers and Green Bay Packers. He has also been a member of the Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos and Buffalo Jills.
“I’m really excited to become a part of the Trojan community,” Hasan said in a statement. “I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to get this education and meet new people and reconnect with old friends.”
Hasan, who stands 6-foot-2 and weighs about 205 pounds, went 0-1 as a backup in games with the 49ers and Lions.
USC has more than 20 walk-ons on its roster.
