Princess Diana was world-famous before her marriage to Prince Charles, but it seems her 15-year-old cousin, Michaele Armstrong, always wanted to be just like her. She also had ambitions to fill Princess Diana’s shoes, too. And luckily for her, she got to meet the “Wizard of Oz” royalty on March 19 at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Michaele was at the royal meet and greet to promote her new children’s book, The Mystery of Jackie Tope, and according to the Sun, she “wowed audiences” by coming on stage and pretending to fly over the crowd. Michaele – who was born Michaele Haro – was six months old when Diana and Charles wed in 1981. But like her cousin, Michaele’s dreams to be Diana were not to be, at least not right away. The Sun reports that in the time leading up to Diana’s 1981 wedding to Charles, Michaele’s “personality, luck and looks” were enough to “win her a slot in the limelight alongside Diana.” Although she told the Mirror that her cousins’ sudden fame “surprised her,” it was “exciting.” But it was no act. Michaele told the Sun she actually wanted to be Princess Diana. She explained to the Sun: “I’d love to meet her because I remember her so fondly.” “I have great affection for her and really want to be her,” she continued. “It didn’t happen, but she’s still my cousin.”
