April 14 Will Smith’s 2019 flick, The Wild, will be available to stream via Netflix, but don’t forget: the “dance or die” band and techno/electronica act will return to the big screen with their next project — Rhythm + Flow – A Big Band Spectacular on June 30.
May 2 Josh Lawson will be the first actor to arrive on our doorstep on May 2 to release The Zooey Deschanel, Ben Stiller and Bill Murray starrer Take This Waltz on an April home release date. It’s getting rave reviews.
The Hard Rock Theatres, Indiegogo and Orange Studio present: They wanna party. They wanna rock. They wanna sex! (wo)man! Olivia Newton-John, hunky Nick Jonas and a horde of musicians (like Machine Gun Kelly, Troye Sivan and DNCE’s Cole Whittle, among others) lead this crowd-sourced tribute to some of our favorite ’80s hits.
May 2 Dakota Johnson and Charlie Plummer will appear in Netflix’s hit film, The Fosters, home to the hot song “Run Away With Me” by Sia. This TV series revolving around an active-involved mother and her everyday parenting responsibilities made its way to Netflix in 2015.
Joe Jonas brings us “Midnight” to Boomerang as Boomer returns home to play video games, collect virtual candies and hang out with his faithful BFFs. You can watch this animated fable from The Lego Movie studio on Netflix on May 8.
The Residents and Pink Pepper Taprocan Olbas play “The Greatest Song Ever Sung,” a medley of hits from the ’60s through the ’80s performed to a low key, psychedelic, that would make Mae West proud, on May 24 on Ovation TV.
May 9 The All Time Low bandleader (Haxan Cloak), actor-comedian-writer-director Kevin Smith headlines the Montclair Film Festival, which makes its home to both screenings and parties. He will be seen on Montclair Music Now, the local station that broadcasts his radio show, Mixtape, and will return to Montclair on May 18 for a special night of "Tough Crowd" talk and talk about the festival.
May 11 Stan Lee & His Superhumans will be featured on Bounce. The documentary will take a look at “what it takes to be a superhero” and the publicity that accompanies them across the world.
June 1 In Michael Bay’s 2019 movie, Transformers: The Last Knight, soldiers from different countries band together in order to defeat the alien-lovers, Bumblebee, who has been causing all the trouble on Earth. Though each citizen is separate from each other geographically, their common goal is the defeat of the alien menace. In effect, it’s “Team America” meets “Transformers.”
June 7 The 2018 Cannes film festival opens with Terry Gilliam’s movie, The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, starring Adam Driver and Jonathan Pryce, as well as Roberto Benigni and Daniel Day-Lewis. All are in attendance at the Palais.
June 21 Rashida Jones and Will Forte are on Netflix’s movie slate for June 21 with Foxcatcher.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will star Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard when it comes to Netflix on June 21. This next installment comes out in theaters, but Netflix subscribers will be able to watch this one on demand and on demand at any time of the day, Sunday through Thursday.
